Circus Installation Site

Search the installation address to obtain coordinates, position the canopy on the map and select the nearest European wind context automatically.

Mark the canopy location. The scaled layout is inserted into the technical report as a location figure.

Drag the map to navigate and use the mouse wheel or +/− buttons to zoom. Double-click to mark the canopy position; drag the marker for fine adjustment. The canopy is fixed to the terrain at the stated real-scale diameter to help check installation space and clearances.

Circus Classification and Location

Select the circus configuration and installation context. The calculator applies initial planning values that remain editable for the specific project.

CONFIG / 07 Capacity and audience

Grandstand: steel structure with structurally checked beams and cross frames.
Arena: radial beams supported on cross frames, with a 20 mm marine plywood deck.
Used to check the occupancy load assumption for the seating structure.
EN 1991-1-1 reference occupancy value. Confirm category and National Annex for the actual installation.
4 masts: common configuration for medium and large circuses. Tent diameter 30–45 m.

WIND / 08 Site and wind input (EN 13782 / EN 1991-1-4)

The location applies an automatic preliminary wind value. It remains editable for the final project condition.
Select a country and representative city/region to apply a preliminary wind value automatically.

Initial parameters are populated from the selected circus configuration. Adjust them for the specific project condition.

SEATING / 09 Grandstand

Angle relative to the vertical. Axial force per bar = NEd/(2·cosθ) — the force INCREASES as the angle increases. 30° is the upper-bound value for the typical range; use the actual project value when known.
Fundamental persistent/transient ULS screening combination. Confirm National Annex factors.

Canopy and Wind

Provide canopy fire-performance documentation under the applicable national fire-safety rules. Self-weight is adjusted automatically.
Leave as 0 to use the automatic preliminary EN wind model. A verified project value, when available, takes precedence.
Use the height stated in the wind study for the imported qp(ze) value.

Total straps = number of masts × straps per mast. Typical range: 4–8 straps per mast.
WLL = Working Load Limit. BS = Breaking Strength. Webbing selection is recorded against EN 12195-2 and the manufacturer certificate.

Masts and Cables

EN 10025 S355: structural steel grade, fy = 355 MPa = 35.5 kN/cm².
Breaking load from the selected manufacturer record; a minimum design safety factor of 3.0 must be confirmed by the Engineer of Record.

SUPPORT / 10 Lattice column and foundations

Preliminary profiles calculate an editable indicative screening capacity from stake geometry and soil input. They are not a substitute for an anchor test or geotechnical design.
